Annual Wardrobe Event – April 12, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Learn about how the Wardrobe helps resolve clothing insecurity and how they can help our students from guest speaker Tameka Young, program director at the Wardrobe. Donations are accepted to support the AAWCC/P Student Scholarship Fund: $10 for members, alumni and guests; and $5 for students. Payment can be mailed to Angela Johnson, Room MG-13H. Navigating Our Stressful Times
Nov. 17, 2021, 12 to 1 p.m.

Throughout the pandemic, women’s roles as professionals, caretakers, students, mothers, at-home teachers, and family support centers have increased for many of our students and staff. What can we do to adjust to the stresses of COVID-19 and effectively move forward? How can we help all of our students through these changes? This panel will explore tips and methods to help alleviate anxiety, including the fear and frustration many feel because of COVID-19; how exercise and physical activity can have a positive impact on our health and outlook; challenges that our students are facing, and what resources at the College that can help; and any beneficial strategies to prioritize physical or mental health.

Join panelists Lorraine Barber (BHHS), Judy Cruz Ransom (Criminal Justice), Monique Hayes (Counseling), Tameka Jackson (Single Stop) and Malika Rahman (Criminal Justice), with moderator Dr. Faye Allard, for an informative discussion.

AAWCC/P Chapter Day of Dialogue Event – Betrayal of Your College Dream?
March 27, 2019
1 to 3 p.m., Bonnell Lobby
A panel of representatives from around the College will answer student financial aid and registration questions, as well as discuss topics in Paying the Price by Sara Goldrick-Rab. Part of AAWCC’s national Day of Dialogue.

AAWCC/P Career Wardrobe Event
April 9, 2019
5 to 7 p.m., 1822 Spring Garden Street
Featured speaker: Dr. Laureal Robinson, principal, Spring Garden School
Enjoy some snacks, network with guests, listen to a community leader in education and do some shopping. Career Wardrobe helps residents transitioning to the workforce with professional attire and educational services.

The event is $10 for members, alumni and guests; and $5 for students.
Donations support the AAWCC/P Scholarship Fund.

Working Together to Give Back

Learn more about Philabundance’s efforts to end hunger and donate nonperishable goods for the College’s food pantry, which benefits students and their families. AAWCC/P will also be honoring the founders of our chapter in recognition of our 10th anniversary.
